This valley is located relatively near Huaraz. In order to get there, MOUNTCLIMB TRAVEL AND ADVENTURE offers comfortable buses, appropriate for these routes which will cross a series of Andean villages. Here, agriculture and cattle raising are the main sources of sustenance. We see a narrow entrance of slopes covered by vegetation. Quenual trees cover the lower part of the valley and rocky flanks located on the sides of the entrance. Steep rock walls and granite towers are plentiful in this area.
Once we enter deep into the valley, these high pillars take on a different appearance. They become covered with ice and snow bringing the Ranrapalca and Ocshapalca massifs to life. These two great white walls from which icy waters flow, reflecting their grandeur, delight us with their beauty and majesty. The dry dock on this lake separates two small valleys, each with distinct features and unique views of several other stunning mountains, such as Vallunaraju, Llanllaraju , Leon Dormido and Rima Rima.
As a high mountain guide, I should make a special mention of the Llaca Valley , since it is the technical-practical school for the Association of Mountain Guides of Peru. Here, all professional mountain guides take part in technical courses which later continue in different locations in Cordillera Blanca.
