 Ice Climbing

 Canyoning

In order to reach this valley, we have to cross a large part of Callejon de Huaylas from South to North aboard the comfortable MOUNTCLIMB TRAVEL AND ADVENTURE buses, where we will feel welcome since most villages are near the road or crossed by it. During this trip, we descend and rise again once we enter the detour leading to the Paron Valley. We follow an unpaved road which slowly approaches 2 enormous granite rock walls resembling a door that opens up for us. This road loses itself in the dense quenual forest, which has a noisy river flowing over the gigantic rock walls as its life source. As we look at them, we realize that they could easily be over 1000m high.

The end of the road has a surprise in store for us. Lake Paron, an enormous looking-glass of emerald-colored waters, lays the sky at our feet. Its great protectors, white sentinels which strive to take control of the valley hold themselves so proudly so that their glacial walls have taken on menacing shapes, intimidating those who attempt to crown their beautiful, delicate summits. Seeing nature's magic manifest itself before our eyes is a dream come true. Paron is truly a mountain paradise, since it is one of the few places in Cordillera Blanca in which they show themselves in all their splendor, moving even the most insensitive of souls. Here, we feel close to their icy, snowy slopes and allow ourselves to be seduced by the charms of Huandoy, the Carazes, the Agujas, Pisco, Chacraraju, Piramide, Paron, Artesonraju, and Paria which will forever remain etched in our memory .
